Terms of sale and use
1. Who we are
Plan C is a trading name of Origin Collective Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16566341, registered office 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. You can reach us at hello@getplanc.co.uk. In these terms “we” means Origin Collective Limited, and “you” means the person using the site or buying a plan.
2. What Plan C is, and isn't
Plan C reads the energy performance certificate (EPC) already published for a home in England or Wales and works out the cheapest set of improvements from that certificate that should get it to band C, with the grants that may apply, the cost cap and when to get reassessed.
It's guidance, not legal, financial or surveying advice, an EPC or a quote. We never visit the home. Plans depend on the certificate, which can be old or wrong, and on rules for 2030 that Parliament hasn't passed yet. Read what a plan can and can't tell you before you rely on one; it forms part of these terms.
3. What you can buy
- A property plan, £18.89: a one-off payment for the full plan for one home, identified by its certificate. It stays open to you, and we update it if the rules or grants change while Plan C runs.
- A portfolio, £9 a month: full plans for up to 10 homes you add, kept up to date. It renews each month on the date you started until you cancel.
Prices are the total you pay. There is nothing to add at checkout. Checking whether a home meets the rules is free and needs no payment.
4. Paying
Payments are taken by Stripe, which handles your card details; we never see them. The contract starts when Stripe confirms your payment. For a portfolio, you authorise a payment of £9 each month until you cancel. If a payment fails, Stripe will retry it, and the portfolio closes if it can't be collected.
5. Cancelling and your 14 days
A plan is digital content shown to you straight away. At checkout you ask us to show it immediately and confirm that you understand this means you lose the usual 14-day right to cancel once it's shown (regulation 37 of the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013).
You can cancel a portfolio at any time from your plans page, through Stripe's billing page. It stays open until the end of the month you've paid for, and no further payments are taken. We don't refund part months. The full detail is on refunds and cancelling.
6. If something is wrong with a plan
If you buy as a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 says digital content must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. If a plan isn't, tell us and we'll fix it or, if we can't, refund you. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights.
A plan isn't faulty just because a new EPC scores the home differently, installers quote other prices, a grant closes, or the rules change after you bought it. Those are the limits we describe on what a plan can and can't tell you.
7. What we're responsible for
We're responsible for loss you suffer that was a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care. We don't exclude liability where the law doesn't allow it, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Plans help you decide what to ask assessors and installers for. Decisions about your property, the work you commission and meeting the law are yours. If you use Plan C for a letting business, we aren't responsible for loss of profit, rent or business, and our total liability to you is limited to what you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
8. Using the site
Use Plan C for homes you own, manage or are thinking of buying. Don't copy plans in bulk, scrape the site or resell plans. Private links on receipts are for you; anyone with the link can open what it unlocks, so keep it to yourself. EPC data comes from the government register under the Open Government Licence, and address data is used under the register's licence terms (see data and licences).
9. Changes, complaints and the law
We may update these terms; the version on the day you buy applies to that purchase. To complain, email hello@getplanc.co.uk and we'll reply within 14 days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales.
