Who looks after your data

Plan C is a trading name of Origin Collective Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16566341, registered office 124-128 City Road, London, England, EC1V 2NX. Origin Collective Limited is the controller of the personal data described here under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Questions go to hello@getplanc.co.uk.

What we collect, and why

  • Postcodes and homes you look up. We send the postcode to the government's EPC register to find the certificates, and build the plan from the one you pick. We don't keep a record of your searches or link them to you. Lawful basis: our legitimate interest in running the service you asked for.
  • When you buy. Stripe collects your name, email address, card details and billing address. We receive your name, email, billing country and postcode, the last four digits of the card, and what you bought. We use it to give you access, send receipts, handle refunds and answer questions. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
  • Your records. We keep payment records for six years after the end of the financial year they belong to, because tax law requires it. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
  • Emails you send us. We use them to reply, and keep them for up to two years. Lawful basis: legitimate interest.
  • Technical data. Cloudflare, which hosts the site, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and block attacks, and keeps short-lived logs. Lawful basis: legitimate interest in a secure site.

EPC certificates, including addresses, are published by the government on its register. We show them under the register's licence (see data and licences).

Who we share it with

Stripe (payments), Cloudflare (hosting and security) and our email provider, each acting for us under contract, and the EPC register, which receives postcodes and certificate numbers. Stripe and Cloudflare may process data in the United States, protected by the UK's adequacy regulations or the UK's standard data transfer agreements. We don't sell your data, share it with installers or use it for advertising.

Cookies

One cookie, set only after you buy, to remember what you've paid for. No analytics or advertising cookies. See cookies.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask us to restrict it or move it to someone else. Email hello@getplanc.co.uk; we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
